    Can't change gamertag from UK


    Hi all,

    Trying to change my gamertag from the UK.

    When I use the service it asks me for $9.99 dollars and won't let me proceed without a US address.

    I changed my gamertag about 3 months ago and trying to access the service through the store results in a "Page not found" error.

    Trying to talk to a person via any sort of live chat sends me in loops in the help section. I can't get to the change gamertag service in the UK from either my PC or the Xbox for Windows 10 app.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    On the Microsoft account web page, there is a little globe bottom left, click on it and confirm your region is correct. If you have resently changed any of your billing information, it can take a while to propagate.

    Hi, you will need to ensure that your region is set to UK and that your billing address is for the UK. Your payment method will also have to be registered to a UK address. Check your details here: https://account.microsoft.com

    Hi Njal.

    Many thanks, this has fixed it. It said English (United States) there but on another part of the site English (United Kingdom). It is now asking for payment in £7.99 pounds.

    My region is set the UK, as is my billing address. So is my Payment method. However despite trying to change some things, the site still asks me for $9.99 dollars and will not allow me to choose a UK payment method registered to my account or let me change
    from a US address.

    You cannot change the country that your Gamertag was entered when you went through the creation process. For example, you cannot change from the UK Dashboard that has UK content etc to the New Zealand dashboard with a Gamertag. Your gamertag will remain
    as it was in the UK.

    You can sign into Passport.net and go into the Account Management and change your Local to New Zealand. However like I have mentioned above, everything on your XBOX 360 and the Xbox LIVE Dashboard will remain the UK.
