Can’t change crossplay option…

Hello,

My daughter is trying to play APEX Legends with her PS friends on her XBOX and I can not get her crossplay option to save from block to allow. Couple of things before you reply:

1. Yes, I am signed into my ADULT account

2. Yes, I have a family account

3. Yes, I have selected the child I need to change

4. Yes, I am in correct section “You can play with people outside of Xbox Live”

5. Yes, I changed her setting on the actual Series X to allow crossplay.

6. No, it’s not a EA thing due to she can crossplay on her Nintendo Switch.

However when I change to “allow” and then “submit” it changes back to “blocked”.

Thank you for any help with this issue.

It may be that other blocked permissions are reverting this back to blocked, as in if one thing is blocked and the others are in the allow state, because of one setting, the others can be auto blocked as a result. I am on my Xbox now in Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Privacy > View Details & Customize. I am also on xbox.com/privacy to ensure that I can completely understand what's going on here.

To be clear, could you confirm that the settings you are talking about are verbatim:

Communication & Multiplayer:
- You can join cross-network play
- You can communicate outside of Xbox with voice and text

On the Website it is:

Privacy > [GAMERTAG] can:
- You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text
Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices > [GAMERTAG] can:
- You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

And you've tried this on the Xbox Console as well as Xbox.com/privacy and adjusted the same settings there as well? I apologize if it seems as if I am asked what may already be in your post, I just want to make sure I understand where this is occurring (the Xbox itself, the website, or both) and the exact settings verbatim as they appear on both platforms.

This is also under the assumption that the other settings regarding multiplayer are set to allow as well. This is also under the assumption that you have tried on a different, or InPrivate browser if necessary, and have cleared your cache.

I agree at times controller players are at a clear disadvantage when it comes to pvp. But some games allow you to change the crossplay to xbox only it would be nice if this was a feature. Personally I enjoy the increased player base and dont disable crossplay
even when an option.

Yes but Fortnite is at least crossplay across the board. Warzone is currently optional crossplay on PS4 and mandatory on Xbox One, not a good look.

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for letting me know my prior solution didn’t fix the issue. I do have some further strategies to try:

Launch Call of Duty and go to the Options menu.
Scroll over to the Account tab on the right-hand side of the screen.
You will see an option for Crossplay. By default, it is enabled. Disable it to only play with other players on the same platform.
Please note that crossplay can’t be changed while searching for a lobby. Your friends on other platforms also won’t be able to join your party if you have crossplay disabled. For your reference, you can also check: Crossplay and Cross-Progression in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (activision.com)

Please give those a shot and let me know if they work for you! If they don’t, we highly suggest contacting Activision Support so they can check your in-game account and help you further on fixing the issue. You can reach them on this link: Activision Support
