Can't change Country/Region as it's hard-coded into the "Billing Contact Information" page.

Hello,

I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction with the below question?

I'm trying to add a new payment card, but the "Billing Contact Information" page displays that my Country/Region is "United Kingdom".

There is no drop-down list or any way for me to enter the country I am in "Norway".

I can't remember, but I may have created my MS account when I studied in the UK about 10 years ago, but I'm guessing that should be a bit irrelevant as there should be a way to change to my current country.

I've been in contact with support and they keep getting me to change the details on my Profile and on my Xbox One; which I have, but the billing page is still showing "United Kingdom".

I'm trying to purchase an Xbox game and it's giving me problems, and I'm guessing that this is a contributing factor.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

if you scroll the bottom of the page and click the tiny globe icon. Can you select your region there?

Hi Arminator,

Thanks for the link, however I have tried all of those options.

Region is changed on the console.
Xbox One was purchased in Norway and never used in another country.
Payment card is not banned or expired as I can purchase subscriptions and other items.
I'm not a minor and my ages verifies that I'm 30+.
I have no outstanding balance on my subscription.

There are no UK Pounds or similar currencies on my account, just Norwegian kroner from a gift card I received, a Norwegian bank account, and a Norwegian PayPal account.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried and completed that task.

The location now says "Norway" and I've restarted the console by selecting "Restart now" on the right hand side.

I've also changed my location on my MS Store profile.

Everything looks great, except for when I want to add a new payment card for purchasing an Xbox game. It prompts me to add a new payment method as apparently I have no valid payment option on file (even though my Visa debit card and Paypal is registered),
so I continue with that and I am brought to a screen where I have to input some Billing Contact Information

I've attached a screenshot of this page:

I don't live in the UK, and I cannot change it on the page displayed, above.

I have tried to continue with putting my current living situation details in, but it brings up an error saying there was a glitch; which I'm not surprised considering that I do not live in the UK and have input some foreign living details into it.

I need to get to the point for MS Store to recognise and know that I do not live in the UK, but in Norway.

How to change your country/region on Xbox One

Important If you’re trying to use these steps to resolve any backward compatibility account region errors, changing your account region will not resolve these issues. These steps are
only for when you’re moving and need to change your country/region.

Follow these steps to update your settings to your new country/region, and then restart your Xbox One console. When you make your first purchase in the new locale, you'll be prompted to update your billing information.

Sign in to your Xbox One console.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select System.
Select Language & location.
Select your new location from the list, and then select Restart now.
