    i can watch TV, but cannot change channels with my xbox1 controller or smart glass app on my phone. I can only change channels with my TV remote. I do not have kinect. Also I cannot manually put in my TV remote number because it says it is invalid when I
    know it's the correct number on the back. But it can detect a number if it auto scans. I was able to put in my satellite box number though. What could be going wrong, I feel it's the TV remote code? my HDMI cables are correctly plugged in and I can watch TV,
    just not use my xbox1 to change channels. I also don't have the code for the audio option where it says it sends a signal to mute my TV, but it never mutes.

    direct tv not working

    Xbox One killed my Directv Genie box or my tv. Maybe not "killed" it, but the TV and/or the Directv box thought the XboxOne was an external recording device and now I can't watch TV through HDMI according to the Directv tech I spoke with.

    Just fixed this problem myself.

    Sometimes the preset for your TV subscriber is from an older PVR etc.

    Install the smartscreen on your mobile device and check if volume UP/Down works.

    Then if you just cant change the channels, its your PVR.

    keep pressing MANUAL setup. never let it setup on its own. Mine kept going to the default "Bell Fibe TV" until I kept manually pressing my receivers model number "VIP2262" in my case. and at some point, it listed Bell Fibe TV VIP 2262, and since then it

    I am using a DirecTV H24-500 receiver connected to a Samsung 46 inch LED HD TV (full 1080p capable). I don't the exact model, but when the TV changes channel, the dialog box on the TV displays the aspect ratio automatically. Prior to hooking the x1 to
    it, it always said 1080i for every channel. Through the x1, after the rescale, it says 720 for every channel. When I remove the x1 and put the receiver direct to the TV, it goes back to being 1080i again. I see that I'm not the only person having this issue
    as the support forums seem to be littered with similar threads.

    This seems to be a problem with the rescaling software in the x1...

    I completely understand your frustration although our problem is slightly different. Everything seems to be working but xbox one will not change the channel on my directv box. Once I say a particular station or title it blinks and just stays on the same
    channel. During the initial set up, my tv did not respond to the channel up command; from that point forward, it wouldn't switch.
