    Can't change accounts in Xbox app or Xbox companion app


    Straight up can't change account. Always defaults to one account. When I sign out in either app and try to sign back in with a different account, the context window that allows you to pick a different account immediately closes. I can't interact with this window. The other account I want to use is signed into windows, but that doesn't make a difference. I'm on Windows 11 with the latest available updates installed. getting increasingly frustrated now.

    I've tried resetting and repairing both apps multiple times, and I still can't get the change account context window to keep from just disappearing.

    Have you gone through your PC Settings > Accounts and try to replace the account that's currently signed in there or switch it to a local account?

    I see. Let's try to delete all Microsoft and Xbox related accounts on your credential manager.

    To open Credential Manager, type credential manager in the search box on the taskbar and select Credential Manager Control panel.

    Select Web Credentials or Windows Credentials to access the credentials you want to manage.

    I have deleted the related credentials from the credential manager, and still it doesn't work.

    I've tried doing that, but I can't remove the main account, which is the one that keeps automatically signing in on the Xbox apps.
