Can't buy xbox live from the store

I've been trying to purchase xbox live from the store for 3 days and all i get is a message saying something happened on your end.. I even sent it to myself as a gift but when i try to redeem the code i get the same message. Ive also tried to do it on my
phone but i get the same message

Can't buy from Xbox store

I recently shifted fronm the US to India with my Xbox 360. When I tried to downloads a game from the Xbox store on my console, it told me to add a payment option, but only provided for US credit cards. I added my Indian credit cards from the Microsoft website,
but that did not reflect on the console. Help!

Your xbox live credit can only be used to buy items from the xbox live marketplace.

The Microsoft store is seperate from that which is why you can't use your credit to buy things from there.

If you can't play the damn game without a hard drive there should be a warning or something before you buy it from the xbox live store.

If you've redeemed a gift card then you can use the funds to buy any digital content from the store.

You can't use currency in your account to by xbox live.
