    Can't access new Hotmail account, so Xbox has stolen $70 from me


    Hi,

    • Recently bought my first Xbox -- a Series X.
    • Was instructed to make a new hotmail account to create a Gamertag.
    • Made one.
    • Forgot password.
    • I think I put in a phone number for 2FA, but doesn't look like it.
    • buy a $70 game, download it overnight.
    • Turn on Xbox. It says there's a problem with my account, need to login to accounts.live.com.
    • Try to, but don't know password.
    • Fill out the Account Recovery form (6 times now, I think). None work.
    • I've inputted all my information, INCLUDING MY CREDIT CARD. Nothing works.
    • Oh and btw, the form itself only allows for me to say I've played on Xbox 360 or Xbox One -- it doesn't even allow me to input the fact that I have only played on a Series X.
    • I'm at a loss. I keep trying to recover my brand new account, but I can't.
    • Now I've lost days of playtime and a $70 game?
    No form or online thread it helpful. It all comes back to this same, stupid, broken form that doesn't work for me. And I can't find any phone number or email to find someone who can help me.

    If I don't get actual help recovering my account, I will do a credit card chargeback for the $70 I spent on that game.

    Yeah, if something gets stolen, call the police. You'll also want to change the password(s) on your account(s) so they can't be accessed from the stolen Xbox. You may also wish to contact Support and report the stolen console/ accounts just in case credit
    card info has been used, or something's been done on or to the account that would get it banned.

    If the email address on the account is a hotmail, live or outlook email and you remove it from the account after adding a new one, he's going to lose access to his email.

    You can't separate the Xbox profile from the Microsoft account its' tied to. So don't be in a hurry to change out that email address.

    Sorry it's not a billing issue. My account has been stolen, and Microsoft support has charged me to restore my accounts but that didn't happen. Now I can't access anything to do with the email address and my Live account has been stolen?? As of right now
    I can't even log on to my PC and support is once again trying to fix it. How was this my fault, and why am I being charges?

    How to merge two xbox accounts

    Since both of your accounts are Microsoft Accounts (i.e. your @live account and the >Hotmail/Outlook account), you can't merge these two into one Microsoft Account via a sign in alias.

    Is there a specific reason, why the purchase of the Ultimate Game Pass has to be done on the new account?

    If the new account is "simply" used for your current emails and stuff, you could make your @live account your sign in account for your PC, and add the Hotmail/Outlook account as an additional account to your PC, and still access Mail and other Microsoft
    Account services.
