Can't access my Minecraft username

So I have not played Minecraft for a few years, somehow I even managed to avoid all the new about this account merger thing. I recently tried playing again and ran into this current situation.

I have done the account join transfer thing and have gone to re-register my username however it is saying it is already in use.

I have checked with a username database and I can clearly see that the username is registered to my account as it's showing my skin.

The problem I think I am having is, my Java account was a gift from a family member back in the early days of Minecraft Beta and I used my username the entire time.

Then when the new PC version was announced I then rebought Minecraft with the same username so I could play with friends on Xbox.

During this merger, which completely invalidated one of my purchases and is outright disgusting, the process of actually merging my Java account into my Microsoft account, which already owned Minecraft, failed to notice that both accounts have the same username so instead of simply checking if both accounts have the same username then validating and registering it, it decided to leave my username registered,just not to me(somehow) so when I try to use my account it requires me to register a username which won't go through as it's already registered.... to me?

Can someone sort out this absolute farse because as it stands I have paid twice to be locked out of the damn game.

Now you might say just use another name however I have used the same username for everything since I was a kid, and I am kind of attached to it.

If you would like to make this right, you would not only sort out my PC account but you would reimburse me for deleting one of my purchased goods. Either a refund or give me a copy of the Xbox version of minecraft.

Unfortunately this is impossible for me to do as the email I am shown in my settings app and on bing seemingly is not linked to a microsoft account

I can't get the new username from the email from my old username or the one it has been changed to because it's not fully shown

If it's any help I should be able to access the transaction ids of the payments I made for a minecraft realm

Is there still a way for me to recover my account?

When I logged into windows 10 using my Microsoft account it instantly used my Xbox username. It there any way I can make my Minecraft account different than my Xbox username? This would be extremely helpful, especially because my Minecraft username
is 13 letters, and Xbox usernames can only be 12 letters!
