So , i have their same problem. Afyer migrating my mojang account to microsoft i cant find my bought minecraft anymore but i bought many years ago with my mojang account (java edition , i also have the email confirmation of the redemption of the gift card) . After contacting mojang they all lead me here to microsoft support

A few years back I purchased Minecraft on my dads email as I didn't have one at the time. Due to this I am able to access bedrock edition on my own Microsoft account but am unable to access java and can only play it through his email.

Is there anyway I can fix this? Such as transferring the purchase to my account through his?

Nothing is transferable between accounts and its not possible to gift an already purchased game to a different account.

If you want to access Minecraft on PC via your own account then the only fix is to repurchase it under your own account.

I changed it well over a year ago. But I cant try to get it to update again because of the fact that it says that I already own that gamertag and still need to use it!

Also, if I Use the new minecraft launcher, its trying to get me to pick a new tag for java minecraft, but Im happy with my current name. But I cant input my current name do to the fact that I already own my current name, and have for years.

I am indeed using Minecraft Java edition on the PC.

Logging in and out doesn't seem to be the problem. I think the marketplace is only accessible using the betrock/windows edition. I can go to the marketplace there and still purchase items through this method.

If I am logged into Minecraft Java edition and go to Minecraft Realms it will show me the option to renew a realm which takes me to minecraft.net (Profile>Wallet & Realms) where I normally renewed my realms for Java edition. For this, the payment option has been a problem. I remember being able to renew it using this method not too long ago.
