Cannot upgrade xbox live to ultimate

You can upgrade your Gold to Ultimate in 1:1 when you have no Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. But if you have Ultimate already, you cannot convert in 1:1. Go to Xbox Game Pass

Sorry about that issue, as you already have the gamepass for Xbox, you cannot buy the ultimate cause you have to convert your actual gamepass to an ultimate ( check the table for the convertion )all infos about how to convert and table are here

As above, you exisiting Live Gold gets converted to Ultimate and cannot then be changed back. It means you get the added benefits of GPU (games and whatnot) for the same price as Live Gold as GPU contains LG.

From the GPU page:

"Joining Xbox Game Pass Ultimate automatically upgrades your existing Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass for PC, and/or EA Play (purchased through Xbox) memberships."

So, if you had 12 months of Gold, then you should now have 12 months of Ultimate. It cannot then be downgraded back to Live Gold:

"Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership back to a previous membership"

You are mistaking how it works

Gold gets converted to gamepass core which gives you25 free games to use each month. With gold access for the same price

gamepass console does not

It only gives you access to gamepass games but not multiplayer

Ultimate can be upgraded to but at 3:2

So for your 12nonths you get 4momthz only based on the upgrade
