    Cannot spend money from Microsoft account


    My child's account has successfully purchased content before, including Minecoins - from both Windows and XBox.

    It had a balance of $8.71.

    I added $10 so my child could purchase the $9.99 package of Minecoins.

    In the Microsoft Family pages, it shows $18.71 balance.

    In the child's account pages, it shows $18.71 balance.

    But when trying to purchase Minecoins from Windows - it still shows only $8.71 available.

    Trying the same thing from XBox, it also shows a balance of only $8.71.

    Checking back to the Family pages - it once again shows the full $18.71 balance.

    I have talked to the Microsoft Help Bot a bunch of times now, and cannot seem to ever get a contact for someone who can actually help fix.

    This kind of thing is difficult to explain to a child why it's not working and it's not you who did not do what you said.

    So - Microsoft - something you need to fix manually? Or at least have a rational way to contact support to report?

    Microsoft account balance .

    According to the rewards page, you can spend money on your Microsoft account on games, devices, and more at Microsoft Store online. So yeah, I believe you will be able to purchase the new console with the money from your Microsoft Account.

    Wesey, unfortunately, there is no way to transfer money from one Microsoft account to another, okay? And when money is set on your account, it cannot be withdrawn either.     Family members cant get money on their account

    The newly separated accounts still say they are unable to change billing settings and only primary member of the gold family pack can do so.

    But that is also not possible. Cannot allow them to add credit cards and also cannot transfer money to those accounts. How do those accounts spend money?

    I do not have a fix to offer but I am experiencing all of the issues that have been described here. It’s amazing that Microsoft could be unaware of this. I literally can’t spend money with them, my kid wants to buy a game, and I literally cannot spend my money.

    Yes, they work just like the pre-paid Xbox currency cards, in that they add money to your Microsoft Account, which you can then spend from an Xbox.
