Cannot sign into Microsoft store or Xbox app on windows 10

When I go to sign in to Microsoft store and select my account it goes to another window that closes instantly with the account at the top with a “sign in” instead of my username. Similar thing happens when I try and sign into the Xbox app, the window pops up that says join now, I click, select my account and then it goes back to the “join now” screen. Additionally when I try to play certain games I get the same sign in issue. Specifically TMNT shredders revenge, The Evil Within 2, Skyrim and Hi-Fi Rush. Games like High on Life, Grounded and Fallout New Vegas all work without issue. I have also followed the troubleshooting steps in power shell and ware set.exe. I’ve removed all Xbox apps from the pc and reinstalled them, restarting after each step to no avail. I thought it was a issue being a game pass member so I upgraded to ultimate but that also didn’t solve the issue.

I have tried all the suggested actions to no avail. System is up to date, date and time settings are correct and set on auto. All games are fresh installs as I just started my game pass membership in January to play High on Life. My issues started when I installed Skyrim and the log in issue began. Since then I have uninstalled and reinstalled Xbox app, gaming services, Xbox live and the Microsoft store. I can log into Microsoft And Xbox’s websites and see all my current account information with no problem. I haven’t been able to log back into the Microsoft store since I signed out. I did also change my account password with Microsoft but that was after I began having sign in issues.

Let's now try to delete all your Microsoft & Xbox-related accounts from your Credential Manager.

Make sure to close all your apps before deleting the accounts. Once done, check to see if the issue is gone.

I have performed the credential delete and the problem still persists.

I appreciate you trying those steps. Our best option now is to try to perform a clean boot to disable 3rd party services which may be causing the issue. You can also consider creating PC Local user.
