    Cannot purchase XBOX Live game add-ons like I used to.


    Just redeemed a code from a $25 XBOX card and want to purchase add-ons for Bubble Bobble Neo! and Pac-Man CE DX. Instead, I get a message saying "you have no valid payment options on file" and it's wanting me to change payment options. I don't want
    to use a credit card and I don't want to give private information since I already redeemed a $25 dollar card. I'm not sure where my money/credits are or why it's not letting me just download my add-ons. Am I not seeing or missing anything?

    If the points are on your account and you haven't used them then you cannot get a refund. But you can use them to purchase other games, add-ons, movies, and more

    Are you trying to purchase via the PC or XBOX Live through the console?

    Currency cannot be used on the website as the site is not yet set up for it. You can only use currency via the console at the moment.

    you cannot use that currency for a live gold membership ONLY for purchases on the marketplace like games, add on content, videos etc. the ONLY way to buy LIVE is with a credit card or another form of electronic payment like paypal or store bought live cards.
    the main reason why you cannot is when you buy live on the console it turns on the auto renewal and charges the payment on file like the CC or PP, the currency cannot be used as a recurring payment sorry.

    You cannot use your account balance to purchase an Xbox Live Gold subscription. You can use Xbox Live Gold membership cards. They come in one month, 3 month, and year memberships. It's the same kinda thing, a prepaid code that gets redeemed to your account
    and adds the number of months you have purchased. The gift cards with the dollar amounts that get added to your account cannot be used to buy a membership
