Cannot purchase Washington Capitals Avatar items from the Avatar Store

Hi,
I've been trying to purchase the '2018 Capitals Stanley Cup Victory' avatar. It's listed under 'newest' items in the Avatar Store on the Xbox One console. When I click on the item, nothing happens and I sometimes get an error message,
"Sorry, we can't connect to the Xbox Avatar Store. Please try again later."
Also, I've been trying to purchase other Washington Capitals Items (i.e., Jerseys, pants, headgear) in the 'NHL collections' under 'Lifestyle' and again, nothing happens when I click on the item. The same applies to all these items online via the Avatar Store
except when I click on the item, the next screen is blank. Incidentally, I reported the problem a week ago to Xbox 'support' via telephone and when I called them again today, they still have not corrected the issue.
Memo to Xbox 'support': If the link to the avatar for purchase is 'broken' and you have
no intention of fixing it, then at least have the courtesy to REMOVE the item from the avatar store!

Incidentally, I called Xbox support yesterday, Wednesday, June 20, 2018 to report that the Avatar store doesn't allow one to buy anything from the NHL collection, either via console or online regarding the Washington Capitals. In addition, I cannot but
the 2018 Capitals Stanley Cup Victory avatar ($1.99) that is listed under 'newest items'. Whenever I click on the item. I also get the message "Sorry, we can't connect to the Xbox Avatar Store. Please try again later."
If it not too much to ask, maybe MS could correct the issue so I can buy some items (Avatars) that I really want!

Avatar store not allowing purchase

I've been trying to purchase avatar items from the store and it either boots me back to the store homepage or says that it cannot be purchased is there an issue with the store?

 

I, too, have been trying to purchase Capitals items for my avatar for a few weeks and haven't been able to. I had created a support ticket on one of the Capitals jersey and support just came back with that item is no longer available. How can one NHL team,
which happens to have won the Stanley Cup, be no longer available while all the rest (as far as I can tell) are still available?

It seems real suspicious to me that all items that have 'Capitals' in the URL link give me:

This page isn’t working

marketplace.xbox.com is currently unable to handle this request.

On the other hand, these two Capitals items (both hockey gloves) are available for purchase and I believe it's because 'Capitals' are not in the URL link:

Thanks for the response, riffing719. You've provided me with more intel than MS has offered in a week with my service ticket!


The truth is MS and Xbox support is a joke! I'm no longer buying anything from their avatar store or purchasing any of their game add-ons. I find their agents (for both MS and Xbox) rude, use a liberal dose of 'alternative facts' as cover for their ineptness,
and have a nasty habit of disconnecting (hanging up) in the middle of a telephone conversation after you’ve had to wait for minutes on end to speak to someone and begin to press them for further information.


In addition, it’s been my experience that whenever I've had to contact MS in the past, I then shortly begin to receive numerous unsolicited telephone calls from various clowns saying they are with 'MS support' and they've noticed I have a problem with my
computer and they need remote access to fix it. And as sure as the sun rises and sets, I expect those telephone calls to resume any day now.


At this juncture, MS is lucky I still pay for a 'gold' Xbox subscription along with my Office 365!

 

I found a workaround - remove 'Capitals' from the URL and you can buy the items:

It didn't work for me. I was able to purchase the avatar but it never appeared in my profile. Now I'll need to get a refund. Xbox needs to FIX THIS and ASAP!

 

Once you buy it, you have to edit your avatar to equip it. The item above should show up under Props and then under Purchased.
