    Cannot Purchase Game content due to "Problems with account"


    I have been having this message pop up whenever I try to buy anything on the Marketplace:

    There's a problem with your account. To fix the problem, go to

    https://account.live.com. Alternatively, choose a different payment method.

    The main problem is, other than it pops up for everything, is that it does the same thing whether I try paying with my paypal or with my account money (from microsoft points).

    Please tell me either how to fix this problem, since it sends me to the sign in page for Live accounts, and does not tell me how to fix it, or please correct the issue.

    Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

    So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

    Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

    Unfortunately, you cannot merge profiles. The emails associated with LIVE accounts give the accounts their own unique identity. And if you've done any downloading of games, content, movies, etc. It is all linked to that specific account that has downloaded
    it, due to the account owning the licenses of it when it purchased it.

    Digital content (including games) cannot be transferred from one account to another, as the purchasing account holds the license for the content.

    Bought a used bundle. Cant play downloaded games.

    You would have to purchase the games on your account in order to have the games. Digital content cannot be transferred between accounts.

    When you purchase content it is tied to the account that purchased it. On the One, any account can use the content as long as you have the console set as your Home console. If the previous owner removed that console as their Home console, you would no longer
    have access to the content. Since you are not the owner of the games, you cannot retrieve them.

    Since your banned account cannot connect to Live any longer, the only way you can play any purchased DLC is on the original purchasing console (due to the console license). If the purchasing console has been replaced, then you are out of luck as all content
    is forfeit upon permanent account suspension.
