cannot playback blu ray in parent account after switching from child account

Blu Ray player won't play PG movie after switching into a (password protected) parent account.

Only when i log off from the child account it works. There is no associated help or troubleshooting page whatsoever.

Why on earth can't i play a movie while in admin account?

It took me a couple of hours to figure this out.

dear msft, pls add this to your troubleshooting steps, otherwise you will get even more 1 star reviews for your blu-ray app.

Unable to add son to xbox one

As above,

Select child
Sign in as parent
get to the 50c card authorisation, add card details
Then get card already exists on account - go through screens - again!!

Then after about 10 minutes updating account it fails with code 45468.7036976521340.5055251569016685

Go to xbox errorhelp - can't find it

Can anybody help please we are pulling our hair out on this

Just to say the card is on account from xbox and also Microsoft accounts linked to the parents account!

Avatar Companion blocked for child account - Parent can't purchase for a kid? Seriously?

So, my daughter wants to purchase an avatar item, Baby Groot Companion, for her avatar from the marketplace store. The item is FREE. She's blocked from doing so by MS due to being a child/teen account. Even though I am her parent, and even though I changed the family settings to allow her to purchase content and even though I have billing setup with MS, she still CANNOT purchase the item. I can't purchase it for her. Seriously?!!

Who in their infinite wisdom decided that FREE content allowed by a parent, can still NOT be purchased by a child? Come to think of it, if this is the case, why is there no way for a parent to purchase content and gift it to a child account?

yes you can have multiple accounts logged in at once. Microsoft’s parental controls are working as expected. Make sure all child accounts are signed out.

This thread has diverged in a couple different directions. I'll try to address everything.

If you have a Blu-ray disc that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, get the "No disc in the drive", or "Please enter a Game, DVD, Blu-ray, or CD disc into the drive" error messages, then your Optical Disc Drive is possibly going bad, and you should call
Xbox Customer Support. The error messages occur because the drive couldn't identify what type disc was inserted. I believe the people clearing of persistant storage, turning off BDLive, or trying factory resets, that are reporting that fixes the problem are
just a coincidence, and that their issues will come back. The same applies for the people who reported games & DVDs working, but Blu-ray never works. Some of these people later replied to me and said games stopped working eventually as well.
If you have a specific Blu-ray disc that never works, but all other Blu-ray discs work, then let me know. The Blu-ray spec is poor, authoring standards are not enforced, and we're still finding discs here or there that we are just incompatible with. That's
why all Blu-ray players need updates all of the time. This is an example of what happened with Game of Thrones Season 3.
Blu-ray blocked because of parental control level. The Xbox defaults to the lowest age of all profiles signed in. So if you're on an unrestricted profile, but your child is also signed in with an age 6 profile, then all movies PG and higher will be blocked.
DVDs will prompt you to enter the 4-digit parental code and let playback continue. Blu-ray doesn't have that feature, and you will have to sign out the child profile, quit the Blu-ray app, and restart it, to get playback to proceed. Even the super expensive
Oppo Blu-ray player has this problem, and forces you to completely back out of the movie and turn off parental controls to get the disc to play. Blu-ray forgot to spec a callback to the app to tell us playback was blocked, and they block playback inside their
Java code, so there is no chance for us to prompt you for the 4-digit parental code.

Kind of. I cannot describe it perfectly but it does come when starting UHD Blu-ray Disc playback and stopped immediately on quitting the playback.

UPDATE: Xbox One S returned. No solution for audio sync issue on DVD/Blu-ray playback.

After scouring the internet I cannot find a solution. The Xbox Support seems to be correct. There was an issue with the Xbox One S where the audio was not in sync with the video on DVD and Blu-ray playback. I returned the Xbox One S.

Hopefully few other experience the issue.
