    Cannot play Sea Of Thieves (Ashbeard)


    I cannot play Sea Of Thieves. I can boot up the game and get to the "click anything to sign-in" part, but whenever I click, it will almost instantly go to an error screen with the code Ashbeard saying that I need to sign in to Xbox live to play. I have
    Xbox live, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, triple-checking WiFi connection, checking if my computer settings are blocking the game or if I have any firewalls blocking the game but to no avail. I really would just like to be able to play this game
    because I paid for it. I have Sea Of Thieves on PC for Windows 10.

    Thank you, I hope this is the issue. I will try to access the game at lower traffic times to see if it truly is. I purchased the game very recently so I haven't gotten past that error screen.

    It's possible that the servers are experiencing issues right now. I found an old topic on the Sea of Thieves forums, but it's about the same issue. In it, someone I'm assuming from the Rare team has this to say about the Ashbeard issue:

    "The servers currently extremely stressed due to the amount of people bombarding them with connection requests.

    This is causing the game to throw out a bunch of different errors. Some more common than others."

    It might have to do with the fact that the game was recently added to Steam, which means more people playing now than before. If it is in fact a server issues, then hopefully it gets sorted our for you asap.

    "You must be signed in to Xbox Live to play Sea of Thieves. Please try again. (Ashbeard)"
