    I cannot seem to be able to play more than 15-30 seconds of my music collection at all . After 1.5 hour with support, they have no idea. I have an XBOX Gold and Music Pass that are active.... Anybody experiencing the same thing? Strangely video collection
    seems ok...?? Irritating.

    this is so broken, I cannot believe that I cannot play my own music in more than 30 second bursts. ARE YOU KIDDING ME MICROSOFT!!! Bring back Zune. My Surface is useless as a Music Device. FAIL!!!

    This is positively stupid!

    I have to say, Xbox music is terrible on the Xbox. Dumbest service ever. A comparison of Xbox music on different systems:



    Windows 8:

    Play almost anything for free with the occasional advert, no music pass required. Will play your own music (obviously, a no brainer)



    Xbox:

    Can only play 30 second bursts of music from the Xbox service or your OWN collection.

    Or

    Requires hideously expensive gold pass + music pass.



    They should have called it something else to avoid confusion, nobody is going to use it on the Xbox in its current state. Using media player and Zune are not smart suggestions, the whole point of the Xbox music service was to unify the ridiculous amount
    of Microsoft music and video players.

    Surely this massive inconsistency between platforms is a bug.

    Streaming Media from my PC to my Xbox One

    The XBOX One DOES NOT stream like the 360 used to. I used to be able to sit down at my 360, open the media player and browse my entire music/movies/photo collection. This is NOT possible with my XBOX One.

    Having to run to your PC, find a file and right click and "play to" is crap. This is nothing more than MS trying to force people to their pay services.

    I can confirm this issue. Using a Lumia 920, cloud sync turned on, cannot play any music streaming beyond 30 seconds, no options to download without paying. Music synced from a W8 PC will also fail to play with a media usage rights error. I can provide any
    additional info you need as it is as if the Xbox Music pass has just been turned off on my account, which is a huge problem.

    Install games to HDD

    If your console is showing no signs of slowness, or the dreaded "cannot read disc" error when playing games installed to the HDD, it may be ok. I have a 2.5" HDD that did thermal recalibration more often than normal. It still works (it's in one of my PS3s).



    If it's doing it EVERY 30 seconds, pick up a replacement HDD. A genuine XBOX 360 320GB HDD is $99 right now.
