Cannot Play Movies/TV Movies on My Xbox One Error 0x80072ee7

Hi,

I recently have had a problem playing movies on my Xbox One.

When I open the Movies/TV App and try to start a film, this comes up:

"Can't Play

Make sure you're connected to the internet, then try again. If you're definitely connected, make sure no firewalls or proxy servers are blocking access to online services

I went to xbox support and some other websites and tried the following fixes to no avail:

1. Tested Internet Connection (All Good)

2. Tested Internet Connection (Only 1% packet loss)

3. Reboot/Restarted the Xbox (No Change)

4. Disconnected and reconnected wireless internet (No change even when switching networks)

5. Tried using other apps (no problems with any other movie apps like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube, etc... just Movies/TV)

6. Added MAC Wireless Address to my router (Already listed in the router list)

7. Uninstalled Movies/TV and Re-installed (No Change).

8. Updated the Xbox One (All updated)

I'm baffled because I have not had this problem until today. Movies/TV work fine on my laptops and tablets connected to the same wireless network.

What's even stranger is that...only one movie (the last one I purchased) works...sometimes...I tried even restoring the movies...still nothing.

I tried all of these things and none of them worked. 😢

I did uncover something strange though. I noticed a "DNS Isn't resolving Xbox server names." is popping up.

I did some digging and I manually put in the following DNS tcp/ip 4 numbers

Primary DNS 1.1.1.1

Alternate DNS: 1.0.0.1

Now movies/TV plays just like always... All movies.

I am totally stumped. Any idea what caused me to have to do this?

By the way, I am not expert in this. Probably just got good timing... Lol.

Thanks for the feedback mate

Let's try this on your console:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Aftert that, try to remove and re-add your profile on the console.

Also, could be nice disconnect the router from power for 3 minutes and then connect it

And try again as soon as everything's up and running

Hi Josef,

Thanks for your help. The move is the 1993 Jurassic Park.

I tried playing on at least three other computers. That move and all others play fine on other computers.

No other movies, except. Jurassic play on my Xbox One.

Oh, that's nice!
Probably your actual DNS config was blocking this specific movie, 1.1.1.1 DNS allows you to use a free DNS

Sometimes DNS 8.8.8.8 can do the trick too, is the one for Google

May I know which movie is?

Also, if you try open it on another device (like your laptop) it starts?
