Cannot Play Minecraft After Migrating Mojang Account

Hi, my name is Gwen. I'm trying to get back into Minecraft to play with some friends. I've owned the game for many years and played upwards of a thousand hours.

Recently, I migrated my Mojang account to a Microsoft account, and for my own convenience, I figured I would migrate it to my pre-existing Microsoft account which had originally used a different email. First, I changed the "primary alias" of my Microsoft account (this one) to the same email I used for Mojang, deleted any other aliases used by that account, and then migrated my Mojang account to the Microsoft account under email I want to use. This, apparently, was a mistake. Now, on minecraft.net, my Minecraft account has seemingly been successfully migrated to my main Microsoft account as I wanted. However, I can no longer play Minecraft, because the Minecraft launcher does not recognize my account as having been previously attached to a Mojang account. This means that A.: I can only play the demo version of Java Minecraft through the Minecraft launcher, which prompts me to purchase the full game on the "Play" tab, and that B.: even if I wanted to re-purchase Java Minecraft on this account, I cannot, because minecraft.net knows I own the game.

For the sake of circumventing any surface-level advice, here are some things I have already tried/made sure of:
    - There is absolutely no doubt that I am signed into a Microsoft account on both minecraft.net and the Minecraft launcher. My Mojang account no longer even exists. I can only sign in via Microsoft.

    - I know there is no discrepancy between login details on minecraft.net and the Minecraft Launcher. I have repeatedly signed out and signed back into both platforms using the same credentials, and I have also uninstalled the Minecraft launcher and re-signed into it more than once.

    - I tried swapping my main Microsoft account to yet another email and then signing into minecraft.net using the previous one, just to see if I had accidentally created two Microsoft accounts which used the same details (only one of which might have owned Minecraft), but minecraft.net confirmed that no such extra account exists.

And now for some screenshots, to prove my circumstances:

Cannot Play Minecraft After Migrating Mojang Account

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    This is from Minecraft subreddit;

A new Launcher is being offered for download which supports Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. Unless you have such a subscription we are advising for the present not to install this new Launcher

If you are having issues installing this new Launcher for Windows 10/11, or after installation you are unable to log in (e.g. it is apparently unavailable on your Windows Store account): please download and install the older Launcher marked as Windows 7/8 from this page - https://minecraft.net/download

The new Launcher for Windows 10/11 has only recently been released, and judging by many posts on the subreddit it is not working correctly for some users. We recommend using the above mentioned older version for Windows 7/8 until these issues are resolved.

If you have successfully installed the new Launcher please see this FAQ https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/44...

Cannot use/play Minecraft with Mojang account - Java Edition

    hi Ricardo,

Thanks a lot but I know how how to reset my Microsoft account and this is not the problem and of course I've tried this option.

    Here is the timeline:

    1) Minecraft JAVA Edition bought from minecraft.net

    2) Game is working with Mojang account

    3) Mojang accounts have to be migrated to Microsoft account ( system announcement)

    4) Migration done

    5) Game cannot be used using Microsoft account after migration

    6) Game cannot be used using Mojang account after migration

    7) Several emails sent to MOJANG and minecraft.net for help - response: we cannot help, please contact Microsoft as this now in hands of them

    8) Several emails sent to MOJANG and minecraft.net for refund - please refund as I bought the game from you and it's not working

    9) I'm not able to contact Microsoft for this problem - the only channel to get in touch with Microsoft is this community

    Best regards,

Microsoft account does not have minecraft anymore.

Originally I bought the game with a mojang account (This was back in 2016 I think)

I then changed the email for the mojang account.

then with the migration, I migrated it to my current microsoft account that is not related to any of the previous emails.

The migration was successful and I was able to play game.

I stopped playing for a while, but after trying to log in with the same microsoft account that worked previously, minecraft was not there anymore.

Since I bought it with a mojang account, there is no record of a purchase/transaction.

    Minecraft migration

That's normal, you can't access the old Mojang account after the migration, you need to use the email you used to migrate the Mojang account to, in the launcher you need to select Minecraft Java and then Microsoft login and then use the email you use during the migration process

Both Java and Bedrock Minecraft missing from my migrated account?

Hello, Portia. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

Did you have two mojang accounts (one with Java and one with Bedrock), or did you have one mojang account (which had Java) and one Microsoft account with Minecraft for Windows, and you migrated this mojang account with Java to the Microsoft account that had Minecraft for Windows?

I ask because you cannot migrate two mojang accounts to only one Microsoft account. So if you had one mojang account with java and one mojang account with bedrock, you migrated them to two different Microsoft accounts.
