Cannot play Halo 3 even though its already installed, it says I need the Halo 3 dlc but its...

Sorry to hear that you cant access Halo 3. A couple quick questions to clarify the situation.

Is this with the Master Chief Collection? and if so, is this on PC or Xbox? Please advise

If it is with the Master Chief Collection, you can check your games installed titles by going to the following are

• Inside the game, go to the settings menu
  
• Then go to the Gameplay tab
  
• Under here, you should see a "Change Installed Games" button...go ahead and select that
  

In this menu, you should see all the games in the collection that you have installed. If Halo 3 is giving you issues, feel free to double check that it is installed by selecting the appropriate check boxes under its tab. (Pro Tip - you can install the campaign and multiplayer separately to clean up some space if you don't use one).

Please keep in mind that Halo3 : ODST is a separate game entirely and does require the DLC to be acquired and installed If you are attempting to play this content.

I can see the Option to run ODST in the game menu under Halo 3 -> Halo 3 ODST

Though it cannot run and needs DLC

It is not an installation disc, it provides access to Halo 3 MP with all the DLC, which cannot be installed.

Will you at least think before you reply? If they are playing Halo 3 multiplayer......they are playing Halo 3 multiplayer right? Even though its in the ODST case the disc still says Halo 3 multiplayer. Sooooo they are still playing Halo 3......right. Right.

[/quote]Yes they are playing halo 3 MP, but what you are failing to recognize is that if they are playing it from the ODST box, then it was ODST they purchased not Halo 3 and the stats are being taken from ODST's and added to Halo3's It is skewing the data
on what game it was that the MP came with.

I shall leave you to it though because you and subzerochef are as big a fanboy as each other, and I have already had my fill of long drawn out discussions with fanboy muppets for the month.

I agree Halo 3 really is the best option. There is a little blood but its nothing at all like the other shooters out there. Also no swearing at all. Plus its colorful and has a lot of comedy. Even
Halo CE Anniversary would be another good one.

I cant remember if Perfect Dark Zero has blood at all. But that could be worth another try.

I would NOT suggest Halo Reach for children. Its a much more depressing and dark campaign that focuses way too much on death and suicide. Every single member dies and some die a brutal death. Halo 3 or Halo CE Anniversary are the best options.
