    Good day!

    I am having trouble playing the games on discs after unsubscribing to Game Pass. I was able to install the game properly but keep on receiving this message:

    "If you have a game disc, insert it now. If you bought this online, make sure that you're signed in to Xbox Live. If you have last played the game using a subscription such as Game Pass, check the subscription to see
    if the game is still available. If you don't have rights for playing it, you'll need to get it at the Microsoft Store."

    The sentence "If you don't have rights for playing it, you'll need to get it at the Microsoft store" is freaking ridiculous. I got the physical copy of the games and I was able to play it just fine until this Game Pass error screwed it up. I tried all the
    recommended troubleshooting steps from forums like, power cycling, and resetting the Xbox One itself but, I am still getting the same issue. Here are the games that I am not able to play because of the said error.

    Batman Arkham Knight

    Lego Marvel Superheroes

    The discs mentioned above are working fine and installation was completed in the Xbox One.

    Thanks for reaching out! Whether a game is purchased on disc or download it from the Microsoft Store, you need to install it on your console’s hard drive before you can play it.

    Unfortunately, you will need to use the disc for any disc games after the installation is completed. The game license is physically on the disc. For more information, check out the

    If you have a game disc, insert it now.

    Thanks for the reply! Regarding the error code that you received,
    0x803F8001,     would you happen to own the game on disc? If you’re playing a disc-based game, insert the game disc into the Xbox console. If the disc is already inserted, see
    Troubleshoot problems playing a disc on Xbox One. If you happen to have bought the game digitally, then please make sure that you are signed into
    the same profile used for the initial purchase.

    It's not a problem with the disc. It'll always show that way as long as you have Game Pass. If you were to unsubscribe, it'll show the disc icon again.
