cannot make an xbox account, as it says gamertag not availible

Hi everyone, I hope there's still some active people on here..

I tried to buy minecraft for my pc today. I clicked on buy, I chose my microsoft account to sign in and it directed me to a page to make a xbox account and choose a gamertag - so far so good. But when I clicked the "let's go" button, nothing happened, not even the page started to load. I tried multiple times, but it simply didn't work, which led to me closing the site.

I tried again an hour later and it takes me to the site to create an xbox account again. Only now, not even keyboard slams are working as a gamertag, simply nothing works anymore. I tried logging into the xbox account, but it still directs me to that page.

I don't know what do do anymore. Every help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello Charlie, here in this community the procedures are more focused on gameplay issues on Xbox consoles and PC as this whole process of login and purchase is automatic in the Mircrosoft system try to contact them to see if they can help you.

IAmTheStig0001, if the gamertag is still in the system, even if the account is deleted, it cannot be used. So sorry. Microsoft cannot make it available for you either.

If the system says it's taken, then it's in use somewhere on Microsoft's servers. The system does not see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So if you're searching for "gamertag" it may show as available but you cannot actually use it if it's
actually in use as "gamer tag".

The gamertag text field can immediately check if a gamertag is available, or you can select a randomly generated gamertag if you want to get to playing right away.

Please note that if a gamertag is not available, it is not available. Xbox Support cannot release gamertags from allegedly inactive users by request. Gamertags are only released if the owner has not logged into their Microsoft account for five straight years,
and some people do keep their account active by logging into other services (Office, Outlook, etc).

just yet. These gamertags take some time to become available to the public. We cannot say for sure. Does this error message appear when you search for gamertags on the
Xbox website instead of the console? Be sure to let us know the results!
