Cannot link Xbox account to EA to Access Xbox Game Pass Games

The linking system of the accounts it's not made by Xbox, this is on EA servers, ideally when you link an account with your other accounts you should not use an account that you won't keep using to avoid this

This is true, but it's also the issue.

Since EA titles on Xbox Game Pass rely on EA's service and servers to link, several users simply can't connect because EA has inferior solutions and a poor system when it comes to account management. I and others can't ever play EA titles without making a brand new Xbox account with no prior EA account affiliation and then link, technically for the first time with new accounts on both ends.

As I mentioned above, this is because several users such as I likely had an old account connected with EA in some sort, and now, it can't be re-linked even if the account no longer exists, as EA only allows a single link with an account through its existence, regardless of if it exists, is linked or not, etc.

Disregarding all that. What I am more curious about at this point, almost a year after trying to figure this out, I wonder if Xbox Game Pass actually pays EA for its services and games appearing on Xbox Game Pass, or if they only get paid per download and playtime of each game?

Because at this point, it really feels like typical EA-mediocrity is ruining a pretty great service, which is Xbox Game Pass.

This could also be solved by not forcing users to connect or link with EA to play their games, but that doesn't sound like an "EA option".

I just hope Microsoft Xbox and the team from Game Pass are aware of this issue, and I'm sure they have access to statistics within their application confirming that their users in mass, can't ever access EA titles.

I cannot access all my EA games that i used to play before. The EA application shows a message saying that my xbox game pass was expired and I have to renew game pass to play. However I checked that my Xbox PC game pass was not expired. I can still play games in xbox app but not games in EA play. I tried to restart the app and logged out many times, but no response at all.

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issue. I've confirmed that my EA account is properly linked, and I've also verified that there are no problems with my Xbox subscription. I can download Xbox Game Pass games from the Xbox App without any issues. However, in the EA app, it states that I need to subscribe or purchase the games.

You cannot share all things with EA Access.

You cannot share Early Access trials and discounts.

You cannot use the EA Access app unless your Xbox account is subscribed.

You can share any EA games from the vault that you have installed with your profile.

You can share any EA games you purchased.

You can share Xbox One Games with Gold that you have installed with your profile.

You can share any purchased games and most DLC.

You can share online multiplayer benefits.

You can share any Game Pass game.

Exact MS account check!

Linked to Xbox account uncheck... that one doesn't have the funds.

• My MS account -> linked to old account that MS or EA cannot assist with, thus orphaned.
  
• no MS account ->New Xbox account not linked, but have Game pass on.
  

Is there a way to remove an Xbox account and link a new one?

N.B. please dont lock this thread yet like the other one with "any issues linking your xbox account with ea will have to be dealt with via ea support as microsoft dont have access to ea accounts."

The linking to enable EA Play with Game Pass is the joint responsibility of MS and EA and only works properly when newly initiated from the xbox app. Despite this feature being months late it's flaky and doesnt allow for a previous account linking for example.
