Discus and support Cannot link Steam and Xbox. Failed to update please try again later in XBoX Accessibility to solve the problem; I go to Linked Acoounts on my Xbox series x.     Cannot link Steam and Xbox. Failed to update please try again later


    I go to Linked Acoounts on my Xbox series x. I have been able to link Discord, twitch and reddit. But Steam fails to link.

    I send phone notification and click to link. I get error "Failed to update, please try again later".

    I had them linked in the past but now can't get it linked again. Why?

    I do use Steam authenticator and 2FA but that should not be the issue.

    Try linking your account with these options.

    - From Game Bar

    Press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar.

    Select Settings > Accounts.

    - From the Xbox app

    Select Profile & Settings in the top right corner (if you're already signed in, your gamerpic will appear) and choose Settings > Account.

    - From Steam

    Open Steam and start a game that supports Xbox account linking (for example, Halo).

    Sign in to Xbox Network when prompted.

    Select the account link option in the game menu.

    When the Steam account linking overlay appears, select Yes, continue.

    - From the app for mobile devices

    Launch the Xbox mobile app on your device and select on the account gamer picture to display your profile.

    Select Link social accounts.

    If neither option works, unfortunately you will have to continue waiting, other users have reported having the same problem

    None of those options worked. I contacted Steam and no response from their support team. It's several days now, and I can't get my account re-linked. Please expedite this issue to top support team to fix it. Thanks.
