We understand you are having issues with launching the game Middle-earth™: Shadow of War on Xbox App. We understand how frustrating this can be and we are here to help you resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Based on the error codes you provided, it seems that there might be some problems with your Microsoft account, your Windows permissions, or your Xbox app settings.

To further isolate the issue, may I know if this is a purchased game or a Game Pass game you are trying to access? May I also know if you can access other games aside from Middle-earth™: Shadow of War?

In the meantime, I recommend you try the following steps:

- Make sure you are using the same Microsoft account on both your Xbox app and your Microsoft Store app. You can check this by opening the apps and clicking on your profile picture in the upper right corner.

- Check if you have any pending updates for Windows, your drivers, or your games. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and clicking on Check for updates. If there are any updates available, install them and restart your PC.

- Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and clicking on Additional troubleshooters. Find and select Windows Store Apps and then click on Run the troubleshooter. Follow the instructions on the screen and apply any fixes that are suggested.

- Repair or reset your games. You can do this by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features and finding your games in the list.

Click on each game and then click on Advanced options. Scroll down and click on Repair or Reset. This will fix any corrupted files or settings that might prevent your games from launching.

Error 0x80070005 occurs when you launch a game or app on Xbox One

You see the following error code when you try to launch a game or app on your Xbox One console:

• 0x80070005

This means that there might be a problem with the Xbox Live service, or that there’s an issue with the item you’re trying to launch.

Been having this problem since launch, you can try some of the fixes posted here like :

But I tried alot of them and nothing seems to fix it...
