    Cannot install gaming services


    Just rebought gamepass, and all of the sudden All of my installed games have stopped showing up in the xbox app and are unplayable. I keep trying to update/reinstall gaming services. but it refuses to actually do so (I have given it one hour to do try). I tried the fix on another question but to no avail. (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...services/31596138-5437-42c4-b2d1-bc5e6c6d58d8 ) I am on windows 11.

    Hello Brady, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 22H2, or do an SFC or chkdsk on your PC?

    Gaming Services failed with error code 0x8007007e. Gaming Services will not install.

    Richie, thanks for the response. Unfortunately I have tried these suggestions but I tried them again...

    1. I ran the Troubleshooter and it found no issues.

    2. Gaming services cannot be uninstalled as the box is greyed out. The only way that I have been able to uninstall gaming services is via the Powershell commands.

    I have also found that xBox app cannot identify the default install location under Install Options.

    So I have 3 notable issues, Gaming Services will not install (Error 0x8007007e), Gaming Services actual services will not start (Error 87), and XBox app cannot identify default installation location.

    I cannot install gaming services for the life of me

    i am signed into microsoft store and the xbox app with the same account, my windows 11 and xbox app is up to date, i have used wsreset.exe on the microsoft store numerous times now, i follow each wsreset with an attempt to download gaming services either through the xbox app, or through microsoft store using the gaming services page i can access by putting the "start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN" command in powershell. none of these solutions have solved the problem, downloading from the xbox app still does nothing and the microsoft store still freezes the second i click install on the gaming services page. i cannot update gaming services because it isnt installed, i still cannot get it to install.

    For clarification i am not having issues with updating gaming services, i am having issues INSTALLING gaming services. i was having other issues with gaming services before hand and the fix i followed involved uninstalling and reinstalling gaming services, the problem is that i cannot re install gaming services, NOT that i cannot update it. i do not have the app installed and i am trying to install it. reinstalling gaming services is quite literally the last step in the fix of the previous issues, but now i have a different one. (not being able to REINSTALL gaming services)
