    Cannot Install Forza 4 or Halo Wars on Child Account (MS Family)


    Hey,

    I have just set my son up with a new laptop.

    I have purchased the following games on the MS Store:

    Halo MCC

    Halo Wars Definitive
    Forza 4 Ultimate

    Halo Spartan Assault

    Halo Spartan Strike

    In the Microsoft Store he has the option to install:

    Halo MCC

    Halo Spartan Assault
    Halo Spartan Strike

    However, it wants him to buy:
    Halo Wars Definitive
    Forza 4 Ultimate

    Any idea why this may be?

    He is a child in my family account and should have access to install all of the games listes as far as I was aware.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Poss bug in gamertag change script on Gold family plans

    from the sounds of it



    what you did is incorrect which is why you got the result you got

    1st and foremost

    child accounts on family plans cannot have a creditcard thats what the master account is for

    2nd from the sounds of it you purchased the 800 ms points for the gamertag from the creditcard

    thats not a bug

    you just werent reading what you were doing

    a child account cannot charge anything to the parental account including ms points for gamertag

    thats not how family plan works

    the only way to get 800mspoints for a family member on the family plan is not direct purchase

    the primary account must purchase 800ms points and then allowance to the child account and you apply the gamertag change



    you do not buy the gamertag change directly from the card from his account



    only the primary account can have a creditcard on it any other account will have their creditcard info deleted upon joining the family plan

    a child account cannot make a gamertag change without 800 ms points since they cannot buy using their parents account

    the primary must purchase the 800ms points then allowance it to the child account then the gamertag gets changed



    if a child account in a family plan tries to make a purchase it will say no payment method or not enough ms points if there is no ms points

    im going to gather this is most likely the case

    That first error isnt an error by ms

    Thats your account settings

    Child accounts cannot by law download anything about family

    Pg or m rated games arent allowrd by international laws

    You cannot transfer history on another account...

    But you can leave this account to your kid and set as a child account, then make a new one for you and set a family so that you can control the kid account...
    How do I set account as child? Will my email still be attached to the account? When my wife logs in to her separate MS family account, where this account was a parent, will it now be a child too?
