Cannot install disk 2 of Fallout 3 due to my 360 4B, but I have a 32GB thumb drive......

Tried installing disk 2 of Fallout 3 but says I need a hard drive

I have a working 32GB thumb drive, what's the deal?

Fallout 3 Add Ons DLC

I to am having the same problem i have fallout 3 before GOTY and two disks that are DLC for Fallout 3 with two add-ons on each disk. I install everything with not problems but when i but in the fallout 3 disk like i would with xbox 360 it would load the
add-ons, but with the xbox one it dont even recognize the addons but when i go to game manage it shows fallout 3 and all 4 addons on the drive.

If it says it needs a hard drive, then it needs an actual Xbox hard drive and not a flash drive. It wouldn't be a space issue, but something to do with the system files.

 

You cannot install games onto USB drives.They must be internal Xbox 360 Hard Drives. Reasons for this really consist of DRM, as well as the speed that the console can read/write large amounts of data via USB 2.0...which isn't really fast enough.

 

So disk one was not an install?

 

Irixion, please stop posting incorrect information. You most definitely can install games to a USB. Some games may require a hard drive though. It depends on the game and it will state on the box or in the description if a hard drive is needed. If there
is no mention of the requirement, then you can install to a USB.

 

So I need to make sure on all these "GOY" DLC games does not state "need a hard drive"?

I cannot find that on the back of Fallout 3

 

I don't have the game so I can't check the case, but usually there is something that will state that a hard drive is required if the game asks for it.

 

Fallout 3 was released before external USB storage support was added to the 360. That is why it requires a hard drive and does not have any external USB support. So you do need to check that on the back, especially older games (2009 or earlier).
