Cannot get starfield to load recent save on gamepass cloud. Will only load a save from 2...

We understand that your latest save with Starfield was dated last 2 months and that you cannot get the most recent one. Also. you have been experiencing game crashes.

This issue could be caused by playing the game offline and the game was not synced. Could be game cloud save issues or console is not connected to a stable network. As the cloud save is activated once you play online. This allows your saved games to automatically store in the cloud which in your case, is not happening. Let us isolate your issue:

1. Is this happening to your other games?
   
2. Did you get a specific error message/code when you previously save your game?
   
3. Are all games in your console crashes?
   
4. Do get specific error message/code when the game crashes?
   
5. Lastly, are you part of Xbox Insider? Please provide the OS version of your console.
   

Troubleshooting you can try:

Power cycle console:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
   Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
   
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
   
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
   

Manage your saves to leave space for new ones:

1. On Home, select My games & apps.
   
2. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, then select Manage game & add-ons.
   
3. Select the Saved data box, then choose the item you want to delete.

I have no problems loading the save game from the computer where I saved it (PC). I cannot load it from my Surface Pro. I have played the game many times, with no issues when I save it to the cloud.

Funny thing. My achievements show up that could only be a earned be getting to the level 26 I was at. Already tried signing out and back in again. Didn’t help. By what I read, the current data has now been overwritten with the level 14 data. Also, the only saves available to load now are levels 1, 2, 9, 12 & 14; tells me the cloud save of Xbox or Starfield/ Bethesda are messed up. From now on I will quit Starfield every time I leave. It could be the Quick resume feature.

And, the help desk at Xbox told me to wait 24 hours…they must not understand Cloud saving any better than I do.

Since you chose to get the save game from local disc, the cloud save is probably rewritten with the new save.

You should have chosen for the cloud save to load.
