Cannot get license message when trying to download movie I purchased

    Cannot get license message when trying to download movie I purchased


    Friday 9/14, I purchased a movie. Decided to download instead of stream, but when I click download, I get "license could not be found for download".

    On Xbox 360, ~40GB of free space, tried several times Friday, rebooted and tried again several times Saturday still no luck.

    Internet, as well as wi-fi are working fine according to phones, laptops, and computer, both wired and wi-fi.

    I'd like to actually watch the movie i purchased, but a refund will also work.

    Any ideas on how to fix or request refund?

    license acquisition in Windows Media Center

    I purchased tv shows on Windows 8 through Xbox movies and the play fine through Xbox movies. I play all of my other music, movies and tv through Windows Media Centre on Windows 8. When I attempt to open the tv show purchased in Xbox movies in Windows Media
    Centre on the same computer as I purchased them on, I get a license acquisition message. The message tells me to open the files in Xbox music to acquire a license then try again. I've tried the methods suggested and cannot get those files to play.

    Is this by design? Disappointed if it is, as it will stop me purchasing from Xbox in the future. I use my pc more than my Xbox for entertainment and don't like to have one app for music, one for movies, one for live tv etc. Media centre at the moment brings
    it all together on the pc for me. I don't like the competitors pc option but at least it's all in one app.

    The main thing that could be causing this problem is access to the right account.

    I would have you make sure that you are in the right profile by going to
    https://account.microsoft.com/account/Account?destrt=home-index     and checking your order history.

    If you see the movie there, then what try to roll back your system updates on the 360 by following Solution 7 on

    this page    .

    Give those steps a shot and let me know if that helped with the issue

    Sadly the roll-back did not fix the problem and I'm still getting the "Cannot get license" message. So I'll try and get a refund via the link you sent, thank you again!

    You won't be able to download this item from the marketplace digitally. You should however, be able to play the game if you were to get a physical disc copy of the game.
