Cannot get joysticks to work in game

I can't get joysticks to work in any game I've got installed on my machine. I've tried using a brand new Saitek X52 HOTAS and an old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. In both instances I can get the Game Controllers Control Panel thing to recognize them and see their
inputs, like so:

However every game I try to use them in flatly refuses to recognize that they're even there. So far I've tried Raiden III, Elite: Dangerous, House of the Dying Sun, Strike Suit Zero, and Outer Wilds.

This is quite frustrating, since I just dropped $150 on a fancy new HOTAS setup, and I'd like to get some actual use out of it. After hours of trying to fix it, I'd honestly be happy just to get one of my sticks working.

Hi Beegrene,

Make sure you've uninstalled and reinstalled the appropriate drivers for the joysticks, you can do this by going on Windows to your device manager, and locating your Joysticks.

Also what platform are these games on? Widnows Store, Steam, Xbox Beta etc?

I tried plugging the same joysticks into a different computer with a fresh install of Windows 10. Everything worked fine, so I know it's not a hardware problem. Something is wrong with my desktop machine that's making joysticks not work.

I'm not sure which thing in Device Manager is my joystick, but I've updated drivers on everything and the joystick still isn't working.

The games I mentioned in my initial post all ran off of Steam, but just for the sake of thoroughness I also tried the joystick with the Dolphin 4.0.2 emulator and Minecraft from Windows Store. Same result each time.

I cannot configure my controller to the mapping above... No wonder this game designed for 4 button joysticks :/

I must get accustomed to the one working stick (left) and that the fire is not the RT.

But the life doesn't stops here...

same joystick here but works fine in FS 2020. Have you got the latest drivers from the Saitek website? I´m using the 64bit driver. Having troubles with other games though. ArmA 3 won´t start if the joystick is plugged in.

I cannot map the view axis to the joysticks coolie hat though. I can map the fixed view "look left" or "look right" but the camera is not moving seemlessly to the left or right like it did with FSX.
