    Cannot find/install games from Xbox App PC


    Hi there!

    I have purchased and installed Gears 5 a while back. I am trying to install it again today. When I find the game in the Microsoft Store, it tells me to "install from Xbox App". When I go to the Xbox App, it doesn't find the game, or any game at all. I just get a sad smiley face and "looks like you are stranded". I had the same issue with Halo Infinite a while back, which I solved by just switching to Steam, which does work. Gears 5 isn't a free download though....

    I have already logged in/out, repaired the app, reset the app, reinstalled the app, but the issue persists.

    It seems that the app can't connect to the store in some way. The gamepass page does show games.

    Any help would be much appreciated. I've paid for multiple games through Microsoft and I can't play any of them now.

    First off, thanks for helping me.

    I am running the latest version of Windows 11. I have just installed the Companion app, but the issue persists: Xbox Accessories works, except for the store side. Any search results in "you are stranded here". Same happens when I click on "store". Microsoft Store and companion app have no issues.

    Anything else I can try?

    EDIT:

    Oh this is interesting. I tried clicking on the store when connected through a VPN (location: Florida) and now it works. After starting the download I can disconnect the VPN and resume my download. Perhaps this information is helpful for solving the issue.

    Hello MartijnBos, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10.

    In addition Microsoft has released important updates for Win 10 and 11, they come as optional installations and must be installed, also make sure you have the Companion App installed on the PC, it works along with the Xbox App.

    And, when you say "I can install games now, but I still cannot see any of the games"

    This is via Xbox app? Or are you installing the games from the Microsoft Store?

    Hi JeffMartin,

    I'd had the same issue.
    The problem at me was how I'd, or more from where I'd, installed the game.

    Did install the game from the Microsoft App store.

    After I played the game on XBOX one and wanted to continue on PC there was no saved games.

    Couldn't find a proper solution so I'd deinstalled the game on PC and installed it from

    the XBOX app.

    Now the save game is available.
