Cannot download The Outer Worlds in the Xbox app beta on PC

Hello,

I have an issue with the Xbox app for PC that seem to happen only with The Outer Worlds. I have access to the game through the Xbox game pass for PC (I checked my membership and it is valid), I was playing normally two days ago and had played repeatedly
before, but yesterday the game just would not launch through the app. No error message, just nothing happening when pressing "play". I have tried restarting the app and my computer multiple times to no avail. Ultimately I tried to reinstall the game. It uninstalled
normally, but now the Xbox app will not download it again. Like when I was trying to play, when clicking on "Install" I'm prompted to choose the installation folder and then for a split second the button changes to the download interface, and then it reverts
back to just "Install". I tried with different installation folders and hard drives, again to no avail. There is more than enough HD space to install the game.

The Outer Worlds seems to be the only game affected. I can install and play other game without problem, including some who require admin access. Another oddity is that the game now appears in the "Queue" section of the library where it sits without anything
happening.

My Windows 10 is up to date, as is the Xbox app.

Would anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

troubleshoot game installation on Windows 10. Especially the last step as it seems to help others.

Actually after trying again and this time running Powershell properly as administrator my issue was solved. Thanks !

Thank you for your reply. I followed your advice but got an error on the first step :

I'm not at all familiar with Powershell so I don't know what this means.

Going straight to the second step opens up a MS Store window with the option to install the "Game Service" app, but doing that and restarting the Xbox app doesn't appear to make any change.

Do you have any advice on how to proceed?

The good news :The Windows Store didn't stop working after I clicked "Install" for The Outer World

The bad news: The download is not starting. "Something bad happen on our end. Sorry".

Don't know where to go from there. Thanks again!

Okay, but progress is progress!

Next Idea:

- Download the
Xbox App (Beta) - if possible

- Login and click on the "The Outer World" Banner and try install it from there

Maybe that gets us further (or gets us an errorcode we can work with)
