Cannot connect to party chat

This issue persists, not being able to connect to a party. Just says connecting but never does. Cannot hear person connecting and they cannot hear anyone in the existing party. Have tried every option that has been suggested, nothing works! Please find a solution. I have never had this issue before and have been party chatting with this person for 15 years!

The party and game invite system sucks. You basically have to let the party do it for you. Which is lame. Party chat sucks also. If you're not playing the same game as someone else, party chat gets weird. It'll keep saying "Cannot connect to party chat".

Oh ya Trancendent- Also go to settings, network and clear the alternate MAC address on the X1.

Try rebooting you router and your Xbox fully. Then re-check your NAT. Someones is not open. support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console

The link's advice does not work, all my friends have open nats and we still keep getting "can't connect to chat" errors, there seems to some correlation between ingame chat and party chat, for example, if one of us is in BF4 then joining chat seems to fail,
if we are all at Xbox home, it seems to connect.

Go figure!

Skype! Of course, didn't think of that, i guess it will do till microsoft get their overly wealthy arses in gear, was the app released for the 360? That would mean you could get all your friends in, cross platform.
