Cannot change Primary Alias for XboxLiveFamily account

We have two suggestions. If issue still persist, you may need to reach out to our live support team for this to be investigated.

• Try to visit the Outlook webmail to trigger the @outlook.com email domain. Please use this link: Outlook.live.com
  
  • Sign into your account.
    
  • Once you can see the inbox and other folders, click your profile picture or name alias on the top right of the page.
    
  • Check if your email in there is on @xboxlivefamily.com or @outlook.com.
    

• Another way is to check if your @xboxlivefamily.com was set as specific alias on your account.
  
  • On the same page you have taken your screenshot with.
    
  • Under Sign-in preferences, select the Change sign-in preferences.
    
  • Check if there is an option for you to set different account as primary alias.
    
    
    

If the steps above did not fix the issue, please contact our live support team for this to be investigated. Follow the steps below:

1. Go to this link: Contact Us - Microsoft Support
   
2. Please provide a brief description of the problem and click Get Help;
   
3. Click Contact Support at the bottom of the display results.
   
4. When you identify the product that is experiencing the problem, click Confirm.
   
5. Finally, you can choose to contact a live chat representative or have a live phone representative make a call.

Thank you for the response! I've tried that in the past, and I attempted this again. You should be able to see in the screenshot attached. This does not work in my case, I still think it's because of the old xboxlivefamily.com address that my account is using. I believe I've seen other threads with the same situation using an old xboxlivefamily.com account and they had to have their email reset manually to resolve it.

Let me know if you have any ideas, I would love to try anything. Thank you in advance.

To ensure you can change the primary alias with mailbox (send and receive emails) try adding an Outlook email domain. On the same page you have taken the screenshot, please select Add email and create a new one with email domain Outlook.com. This way you will have the option to set new primary account as alias.

For reference, once you created an email with Outlook.com and set it as primary alias, you may access the mailbox on this link: https://outlook.live.com

Hello Josef, So I was preparing for cross-progression on rainbow six siege and was hoping to bring my progress from my Xbox to my PC, but my Ubisoft connect is linked to a different Xbox account that has my primary email. I was hoping I would be able to change my xboxlivefamily account to my primary email to basically merge the accounts but I get a message that says, "Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias." Is there any way to work around this or some way to solve this?
