    Cannot change gamer tag.


    I’ve changed my gamer tag before so I understand I have to pay for a new gamer tag. That’s all well and good, but I can’t change it no matter what. it says my desired gamer tag is available and when ever I go to claim it the screen says “something went wrong”
    along with a different error code everytime that cannot be found in the error code lookup screen. It’s been doing this for the past 3 days & I don’t know how to go about fixing this. I have money on my account. Very frustrating.

    Help with changing gamer tag

    i want to change my gt to TidalSnow but someone else has already got it and I don't want to replace one of the letters with numbers so if someone could suggest how I change it up a bit to use it that'd be great.

    I've tried it with a space between as Tidal Snow but someone's got that too.

    New Gamertag System Is Terrible

    I do not think they are two gamer tags. One is a gamer tag and the other is your nickname. The gamer tag cannot be changed without paying a fee. Your nickname you can change anytime you want

    Nope free gamer tag changes can be issued if it is within first 30 days of creation

    Xbox support cannot give you a free gamer tag change

    It does not matter if your name is in the gamer tag as it is not enough to reset your passwords and since it is not part of your login info unless you have a bad habit of telling everyone that's your name Noone will even guess that

    Nor is a forced gamer tag change will satisfy you as you will get a random name

    You will have to pay for a change

    You can try to get a rep either on chat or via phone and attempt to sort this out with them. It is unlikely that this will be changed back as that tag was flagged for a change. In the forums we cannot assist with a gamer tag change.
