Cannot buy Mass Effect 2 DLC “Overlord”

Ok; so where to begin....

I been trying to buy the DLC for Mass Effect 2 known as Overlord. For over a month now me and a bunch of others have been trying to purchase it and all we get a message saying “Sorry this purchase cannot be completed” if we attempt to buy it on the
Xbox One or Xboxmarketplace.com. If we try buying it on the Xbox 360 or the in-game store we get error code 80153016.

Multiple of us have been going back and forth between Microsoft Support and EA support trying to find a solution. EA confirmed it is definitely on Microsoft’s side since they have no input whatsoever on the Microsoft Store. But when trying to reach
Microsoft about it all we get are “escalations” that have no follow-ups. We never get a call back or an email on the status of the case and when we call back to ask about it, sometimes they even tell us the case is was closed which incites even more frustration
that a case with no resolution gets closed...

Or they have us call EA; which we already have and they tell us that it’s a Microsoft Store issue because the license is still valid and all the other DLCs work.....

So at this point I feel like we deserve if not a fix to this problem; at least some closure... if this will never be fixed; we at least deserve to know and as EA stated it should be removed from the Microsoft store if it’s not purchasable.

Microsoft lost the licence to sell some of the Mass Effect 2 dlc,including the Overlord dlc so there is no way to buy it. For whatever reason they never took it of the marketplace though.

Thanks for coming to the Xbox forums with this situation. In regard to the
Mass Effect 2 Overlord DLC, its presence in the 360 Marketplace may be for individuals who initially purchased the DLC long ago, but would like to download it (for 360) again, but isn't available for purchase any longer. I do see that a price is listed;
however, there is no "Buy" option, only the "Download to Xbox 360" option and this would indicate that if you owned the DLC in the past, you'd still be able to download it.

When the game was remade to become an Xbox One version, the game development team made the decision not to include this bit in the Xbox One version for reasons unknown to Microsoft, so in this case, it was a decision made at the developer level (Bioware),
the publisher being
EA. That being said, this content is no longer available for purchase on either version of the game, which explains why you haven't been able to obtain it.
