Cannot buy Backwards Compatible Game on Xbox One with Debit Card

You can not purchase backwards compatible titles on the Xbox One store without having a credit or debit card attached to the account you're buying the game with whether it's free or costs money.

The only way to buy backwards compatible games on xbox one is with credit or debit cards and paypal. Or if you can log onto an actual xbox 360 console. This question always pops up on the forums and I really wish there was a way that the xbox 360 marketplace
could be backwards compatible itself on the xbox one. Since I don't use a credit card and I don't use my debit card online the only way to get xbox 360 games would be gamestop or ebay, unless the game was a digital release only.

Sorry to hear there is an issue with purchasing
Backward compatible games.

I recommend to
Power cycle your console and reset your router and modem for 3 mins (turn it off).

Make sure you are using a Debit/Credit Card to "purchase" the Xbox 360 game. Microsoft Currency cannot be use to purchase backwards compatible games on Xbox one only a Debit/Credit Card can (you will not be charged for the game, but you do need valid a
payment instrument).

Also, if your account is set to a child account you will not be able to buy backwards compatible games due to age restrictions. Feel free to try and look though the

Xbox 360 Market place and try the "Purchase" from there.

Unfortunately this does not work, it is unfortunately an Xbox error department that has not yet accessed via Xbox ONE. Yes it goes through Xbox 360 but via Xbox One goes backward compatible games to buy either on disk or via payment or debit card.

If you have not got a valid form of payment (Credit/Debit Card), then your only option is to use the Xbox 360 to get the game, as you need a credit/debit card attached to your account to get the game on your Xbox One or on the Xbox marketplace on xbox.com.

Alternatively, it could also be that you are under the age of 18, and cannot purchase backward compatible games on the Xbox One or xbox.com. Again your only option would be to get the game using the Xbox 360 instead.
