    Cannot add money to my child’s account


    I have repeatedly tried to add funds to my son’s Microsoft account so that he can purchase something on his Xbox. Clicking through each stage is taking ages and often times out. The one time I got as far as paying, I also got the following timeout message:

    I using Chrome and have tried loggin in to my account on various devices (separately) and nothing works. Can someone help please? Thanks.

    Thanks for your response Brad. I tried a few more times on the website and it worked eventually 😁. If it happens again i'll try doing it on the Xbox instead.

    Hello Kam,

    Sorry for the issue with adding funds. Have you tried doing this on the Xbox or the website. There were issues with doing this on the website. You can try to add the card to your child's account purchase the currency then remove the card. as a temporary
    work around.

    I want to clarify that Minecoins are purchased in-game through the Minecraft Marketplace and are not purchasable through the Microsoft Store. You can only redeem codes for Minecoins in the Microsoft Store.

    I suggest following the steps on the following page for an alternative to add money to your child's account:

    No, the Minecraft Store redirects the user to the Microsoft Store.

    The parent gets the email request for permission from the Microsoft Store not the Minecraft Store.

    Following the above steps I get this also error PUR-PrerequisiteProfileMissing regardless of whether I try and add money via a desktop browser or mobile phone browser.

    This is for Minecraft on the PC & there is no avoiding the Microsoft Store which cannot cope with online payments.
