    Cannot activate GTA IV EFLC


    I have got GTA IV + GTA IV EFLC as a present in Steam. I successfuly activated GTA IV. Now I'm trying to activate EFLC. When I try to activate code in game through Games for Windows - Live it says that there's an error in GFWL client. The same thing happens
    when I try to activate code through website.

    I updated GFWL yesterday and checked the integrity of game cache in Steam

    do you need the original disk to use the ballad of gay tony dlc?

    No. You do not need the original GTA: IV disc to play TBoGT. You can simply use EFLC disc and you will still be able to play TBoGT with players from EFLC and original GTA: IV. R* fixed their "version" problem with TBoGT that was present in TLaD.

    GFWL for PC closed down in August 2013.

    support.xbox.com/.../pc-marketplace-closing

    Perhaps that would be the reason you are having issues activating the game even though it is supported. What I would recommend is contacting phone support for more assistance with this issue.

    I No Way I, you don't need the original GTA: Iv disc to play TBoGT. That is what EFLC is for. EFLC has both DLCs (TLaD and TBoGT) already on the disc. So technically you don't NEED the original GTA: IV disc to play TBoGT. If you WANT the original GTA: IV
    disc, then follow what I No Way I said, OP.

    R* fixed their version problem from TLaD with TBoGT, allowing players from both the EFLC version and DLC version to be able to play together.

    It is hard to tell though because the OP didn't specify if he wishes to play the DLC-version or the one from EFLC.

    Ok; it seems like you are asking these questions because you have EFLC, correct? If you have EFLC, then there is no way to get the achivements for original GTA: IV. You need to get original GTA:IV if you wish to get all the achivements for the game as a
    whole.

    Right; you can't do Taxi missions in TLaD or TBoGT. Only original GTA: IV. And yes; only in original GTA: IV can you do the "dating activity". Yep; original GTA: IV is the only place you can do Vigilante missions.

    So, once again: you need to have ORIGINAL GTA: IV if you plan to get all the achivements for GTA: IV.
