Cannot access xbox account sign-in on console.

I recently bought an Xbox Series X Special Edition from the Microsoft storefront, it arrived yesterday (25 Jan 2025). During initial setup, the console skipped the "sign-in to account" step on its' own and finalized setup with no account set. Now whenever try to get the account onto this unit, or even make a new one, the system refuses to procced. On start up, the option says it cannot proceed due to the unit not being connected to the network. I then immediately go to "Network Settings" to verify, and the test says the console is fully connected and "all set". I then use the sign-in widget on the home page, but it flashes the relevant menu for a split-second, loads for a variable amount of time (no more than 20 seconds or so), then resets to the home page. I go through the menus to try signing in that way, same result. I have power cycled the console and the router for hard resets multiple times, no change. I have completely reset the console operating system at least three times and the problem persists. I do not have an error code as the glitch does not seem to trigger any. In the meantime, I have tried using the older Series S I was trying to replace and my account works just fine on that machine. The Series S also has no trouble connecting to the internet on the same Wi-Fi. That, and the fact I have no trouble signing in to my Microsoft account, leads me to believe the problem is localized to the Series X.

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

Please try to test connecting your console to another network and check if the same problem occurs, you could configure your smartphone as a Mobile Hotspot and connect your console to that network.

Let me know if the behavior is the same.

Hi, you can set one Xbox console as your Home Xbox; this Home Xbox can access your Game Pass subscription and purchased games from any account, even when you're not signed in on the console.

For non-Home Xbox consoles, you must be signed into the account which owns the subscription; you cannot use the same account with multiple consoles at the same time.

You're both using your own separate Xbox accounts correct? One account cannot be signed in at the same time on two different consoles. For you to have access to his games, he would need to make your console his home Xbox.

Sorry to hear it. However, you cannot sign a perma banned account into a console. Once banned it is no longer accessible and digital purchases on that account are no longer valid

You cannot sign into two Xbox One consoles at the same time on one account. If they're signing in separately, then that would work.

In order to share your games/gold, the boys accounts have to be using the console you set as their Home console. If they sign into any other console, they will no longer have access to those games/gold. If they do sign into your account before signing into
their own, they can still access the games. You would not be able to sign in on the One without kicking them out. Since you can be signed into the One and 360 at the same time, you would not kick them out if you sign into the 360.
