Cannot Access my Xbox account error ‘Someone is using your account’

Hello Everyone,

I really need some help, i have had to make this account to post, my Xbox email has been locked, I get the error message someone is using your account when i log in:

Issue number 1 is I dont have the phone number anymore to be able to verify the account, secondly I cannot verify it via the security questions I have tried multiple times but it will not work, this account was made many years ago...

I am paying for my xbox subscription yet i cannot play, I also brought Red Dead Redemption 2 which i was really enjoying! I have offered to prove anything they need in order to get the account back, ID’s, Proof of Address, Bank Statements, even written letters
from the freinds from my xbox account.

Does anyone have any advise for me? I dont really have any options and would not want to lose the hours i put into this account and the money spent!

How to Troubleshoot profile-password errors

It is possible to restrict access to your Xbox LIVE profile from any console by making it necessary to use your Microsoft account password to sign into your profile.

You may encounter the following errors when you try making your password necessary for sign-in:

• "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on other consoles. Your password is still remembered for other consoles. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."
  
• "Sorry, there was a problem requiring your password for sign-in on this console. Your password is still remembered on this console. Try again later, or try requiring password on sign-in from www.xbox.com. Visit xbox.com/security if you think someone else is accessing your account."

Solution: Set a password requirement on Xbox.com

1) Click My Account

2) Go to Settings & Preferences

3) Select Xbox 360 Profile Protection

4) Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password associated with your Xbox LIVE account). You will see the number of consoles that don't require a sign-in password to access your Xbox LIVE profile.

5) Click Protect Profile. This will make it necessary to download your profile again using your Microsoft account before it can be used on any console. All previous copies of your profile will not work, and any changes or achievements that had not yet been saved to Xbox LIVE will be lost.

Important: If you feel that your password has been compromised, you can change your Microsoft account password by following these steps:

1) Sign into accounts.live.com using your Microsoft account.

2) Got to Account Information, and next to Password, click Change.

If you are unable to set a sign-in password on Xbox. com, you should check the Xbox LIVE service status.

If the Xbox LIVE service status is up and running, you should repeat the process later.

If the problem persists, contact Xbox Support.

 

Credentials error

I don't know if am allowed to post help threads as I see no specific sections but I thought I needed to get help from somewhere.

I'm getting an error when trying to download my old account. It still has xbox gold ( and gold pp901m on mw3 and i guesss ) and i need to get the account back so i can play on it again.

This is what the error says . ( for some reason you can't dl profiles offline but you used to be able to )

ERROR: Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you are using to sign in.

Visit https:// account.live .com to fix the problem.

I have gone to account.live and tried to sign in with my old account. but it says password is wrong ( even though the DL profiles says it's correct ) I have also gone to Can't access your account but that is no help niether is Google or Youtube.

Please help me. Thanks.

When requesting a call back I am getting ‘The number you gave us doesnt exist’ even though it is input correctly, does it need to be conected to the account? Could you maybe PM me?

Hello Joe,

When putting the number in make sure you put the area code in also if different country the country code too. Unfortunately we are unable to PM. have you tried logging in on the
Account website? Usually if email is locked when you sign in have to verify then it unlocks it.

Just so I am understanding everything correctly.

1. You know your email and password correct? I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE

2. You no longer have access to the old phone number on the account?

3. When you sign into your account you get a message that says "It looks like someone maybe using your account and we need to verify your account" and they want to verify it with the old phone number that you no longer have access to. Is this correct?

If all of these are correct there is a way to get the security proof (where they want to send the verification to) updated to so you can get back into your account (as long as you know the email and password) IT WILL LOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT FOR 30 DAYS
once the 30 days is up it will update the security proof and send the code to the new security proof.

Sign into your account at account.live.com/addassocid This will bypass the box saying someone maybe using your account and give you the oppurtunity to update the security proof on the account

When you only know the email and password on an account and no longer have access to the security proof on the account it will allow you to update the security proof but there is a 30 day waiting period before the security proof change takes affect once
this change is put into place there is NO WAY to cancel the 30 day wait unless you somehow gain access to the old security proof.
