    So
    i just returned to my Xbox today and rather than being greeted with the menu i was first met with a black screen with a purple border. I thought it was nothing a quick off and on job would sort out but it didnt. After a hard reset it became worse and I now
    have 4 purple lines 2 going horizontally and 2 going vertically over my screen with a blue fuzzy background. I can still hear the menu etc and Ive tested my other console which is fine even when using the same HDMI cable so I have absolutely no idea what to
    do because my Xbox hasnt been damaged or had anything happen to it in the last 24 hours.

    Purple Lines.

    It sounds like you're experiencing purple lines as a graphical glitch in your games, correct? If this is the case, you'll want to try the Xbox 360 with 1) different cables and 2) a different TV. If the issue is still occurring in both circumstances, then
    it sounds like the console will need to be replaced (though be sure to check for dust build-up first--if the vents are blocked, the console could be overheating, which could case the issue). You can check your warranty status
    here, and set up a repair.
