Cancer Jokes are OK but reacting to them ISN'T?!!

So I've got a 7 day communications ban. I'm not completely innocent but I feel it's somewhat justified. I'll give you guys a bit of backstory into this before I explain the problem I'm having with Microsoft here.

So basically. I'm a 23 year old and I like to jump on my Xbox when I get home from work. I play quite a bit of Gears which, if you didn't know, is quite competitive like a lot of games these days.

However, I was playing survival mode (horde) which is cooperative. Long story short this guy is getting really bothered about what class I'm playing as, I told him I was new to survival mode etc, and that if he can show me how to do it correctly, I'd happily
oblige. Me being a team player and all that jazz.

Anyways, this dude was having absolutely none of it. He went absolutely crazy saying all this stuff along the lines of "get cancer, kys" etc. Which having been diagnosed with a brain tumour when I was 19. I didn't find too funny. I made the mistake of letting
him know this too, which just made it worse really.

I'm not going to sugar coat it because I'm still in the wrong here as well. But who in their right mind says that kind of stuff? I could understand it from a kid because I was a turd on Xbox when I was a child as well, but this was a fully grown man, saying
this to me.

Anyways, after ignoring his abuse for about 5 minutes and just laughing it off for a while he got bored and left the game.

By this point I was pretty p*ssed off as you can imagine so I messaged the guy.. It wasn't very nice and me being pretty touchy about the big C word I admit, it can make me react a bit depending on the day I've had. I hurled a few childish insults at the
guy and told him to get a life. That's really it.

2 minutes later, OUT OF NOWHERE. he drops me a message along the lines of "GG sir, enjoy your ban." And here's me, unable to talk or message anyone for a week. There's ways around it which you probably all know about but yeah, that's not the point here what
I'm referring to is the principle of it.

I understand that I'm not innocent here. I went down to his level and told him to not so politely go away. But the guy telling me to ****/die of cancer etc was okay? Because the ban was so immediate he MUST have been a moderator if they still exist? And
if so, why not f*n punish him as well? I understand this guy may have privileges on his account but that shouldn't give someone the right to DO WHAT HE'S IN THE POSITION TO PREVENT OTHERS FROM DOING! I'm struggling to write this nicely actually, because I've
pumped god knows how much into Xbox since 2006? And I'm not even entitled to say my piece to defend myself against someone in a position of power who's abusing me? What ???

Well I can, but there's a catch. A condescending "quiz" about the rights and wrongs of Xbox Live. Not gonna lie, my 6 month daughter could probably of managed it, it was that patronising. And when I did finish the rights and wrongs of this "quiz". AND WHEN I DO,
you're only going me 500 characters to do it. 500 characters is barely even this paragraph.

I thought one of your so called "Core Values" was CONTEXT? Obviously not, because one of your jobsworth office drones didn't seem to take much interest in it.

I hope you've enjoyed my strong worded letter. Microsoft. Believe me, if this wasn't linked to my account I'd be writing stuff that'd make your family cry for the next five generations. So if I were you, I'd take appreciation in the fact that I'm staying
loyal. Just please, sort your stuff (ha) out. AND RESEARCH CASES TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE IN CONTEXT. Even at the worst. PUNISH US BOTH. NOT JUST ME........Who works for you? Buffalloooooo? Just ridiculous guys if it wasn't already apparent to your team, which
it probably isn't because they appear to be thick as pig *insert word here* they would of at least taken some fair action and punished both of us in the first instance!!! Another CORE VALUE by the way. It's called Integrity!

ok the its like getting hacked is that better, and technicaly that analogy is right some forms of cancer are undetectable.

 

First off he's no Moderator that has nothing to do with it, you sent him a message which he reported that's how you got the ban and he got nothing.. Sending a message with anything that breaks Lives terms or service or code of conduct rules will do that,
when he got that message there is an option there to report messages and that's all he did.... If you didn't report him for what he said in game that that didn't help either...

 

When someone reports your message the enforcement team doesn't see there messages only the specific message they reported of yours. If someone sends you a message like this again just report there message and do not reply back.

If you were banned for one day or 24 hours there is nothing you can do. However if the suspension was longer then a day you can file to have your case reviewed by the enforcement team. That way they can hear your side of the story. If you are interested
in doing this Here is how to do it.

You will need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com sign in and click the orange hammer in the top left of the site.This will take you to your enforcement history page. Find the current enforcement effecting your
account. Next to it on the right you should see a link that say submit a case review. Click on that and follow the prompts.
