Cancel Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with failed payment.

When you added the one month of Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft converted your existing year of Xbox Live to Game Pass Ultimate. It became 1 subscription.

Xbox Live and Game Pass are two separate subscription, but Xbox Live and Game Pass Ultimate basically get merged into one.

In other words, when you thought you were cancelling the Game Pass Ultimate, it cancelled the Xbox Live remainder too.

You would need to contact support and speak to billing to see if there is anything they can do. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

It just means that you cannot cancel the 24 months of game pass ultimate to reduce the payments. The console is still yours after the payments.

If you'd like to discontinue the Xbox Ultimate subscription, just log in and cancel. Here is a bit more from the

You can cancel Game Pass Ultimate membership at any time: Sign in at account.microsoft.com/services. Under Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, select Payment & Billing,

It states that once your Xbox Live subscription has been converted to Game Pass Ultimate days, you can not revert the Xbox Live back and that by cancelling you will lose your Live Gold. You can not get a refund and nobody in the forums can do such.
