    Why are you still auto renewing my XBL subscription???? Why can I not cancel this from the site (there's no options when I go there)???? Why does your Chat form not let me put in my first and last name and therefore I cannot talk to anyone???? Why do you
    not have a phone number so I can talk to a FREAKING HUMAN????

    YOU ARE NOT SUCH A GOOD SOFTWARE COMPANY THAT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO RELY ON YOUR TECHNOLOGY!. My problem is that your technology is not working for me to cancel this but you don't give me another option??? What kind of crap is that?! I am a person, I do not
    want to fumble around your site for an hour trying to make your stuff work while you continue to charge my account! I can't even use XBL on my xbox (which I haven't even played for MONTHS!)

    FIX YOUR STUFF OR PUT UP A FREAKING PHONE NUMBER FOR REGULAR PEOPLE LIKE ME. THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING I HAVE RUN INTO. Why is there no phone number for times when your technology fails? Are you that arrogant as a technology company that you think your
    stuff will work 100% of the time for 100% of the people???

    Answer me back if you don't want me to scrap every MS product I own and move to Sony, Google, and Apple!

    i have been trying for days to cancel my music subscription. when i go to the x box live site, it just sends me around in circles. when i click on support, it keeps saying website down. is there any way to talk to someone personally. im trying to cancel,

    I know this is going to be annoying. It's on purpose. I need someone from MS/Xbox to talk to me. You don't want this stuff on your site, then contact me back!

    If you take this thread down, I will keep putting another back up and they will just be angrier and angrier and everyone will see how dissatisfied of a customer you have and question whether they want to risk being this disgruntled.

    If I don't get a resolution after that, I will come on this site and start advertising for other companies. Yes, I am that frustrated! Fix this!

  5. After digging through the internet, I FINALLY found their support phone number so I could get this resolved. I have no idea why I would have to go to a NON-MICROSOFT site to get a microsoft phone number but here it is for every other frustrated (ex)customer.

    Never again will I sign up for anything Microsoft offers if it takes this much effort to opt out.

    Sorry you had such a difficult time finding how to cancel auto renew.

    For you and other's that might look here with the same question, you could have typed in "cancel auto renew" in the search bar (next to your gamertag) at the top of the page, and it would have lead you to this page:

    support.xbox.com/.../cancel-xbox-live-gold-subscription

    There it tells you in order to cancel a subscription/turn off auto renew you either click the green text box on the page, or go to account.microsoft.com > services & subscriptions > Live > under Renews On, select cancel and follow the remaining prompts.

    The problem is that I did all that and when I went to my services page, it didn't show that XBL was active. It only gave me an option to start a free trial. I tried to use the support chat and the first and last name fields were grayed out. This may have
    something to do with the fact that I use a very secure laptop but that's not the point. The point is that after scouring the Microsoft site the only options they gave me are to use the website to do everything and when the website itself is not working for
    someone there are no other options given. As far as looking on the back of my xbox, it has been broken for the past 2 months (hence why i canceled my subscription). I do not want to go through my junk to find it just to get the phone number. It should be on
    the site somewhere.

    Bottom line: Technology deals in black and white only. Ones and zeroes. They cannot adapt to every situation and cannot think a problem through that you don't give it instruction to. The last line of defense should ALWAYS be another human because we cannot
    rely on technology 100%. There will NEVER be a computer or piece of technology that can deal with every given situation imaginable. But if we can talk to another human, we can figure something out that may be "outside of the box". It took me over a half hour
    looking for help on the website with no luck but it took about 5 minutes of talking to someone to get it resolved. There should be a phone number listed on the website....period. This way of thinking needs to change or we risk losing our very humanity by handing
    our thinking over to machines. It sounds like some post apocalyptic sci-fi crap but think about it.

    You actually have a point there BesottedGravy9. It's just that, one of the reasons why our capability to think for some other solutions is because of the anger that we feel. One fail while a person is angry may add up to the frustration that you've experienced
    until you reached the point of not using the service anymore which is a common problem. I have tried to locate the part where you couldn't provide you first name and last name when you tried to contact us and this is what I found. It seems like these options
    are grayed out on the Step 1 after you signed-in your account. If I'm not mistaken, this is already expected to happen once you signed-in your Microsoft Account Email because as what it has stated: "When you use Click to Call, one of our agents will call you
    to begin working on your issue. By signing in, our agent can already have your account pulled up when they call you. If you don’t have an account or need help accessing your account, click "Sign in" and then choose the option you need.".

  11. I hear what you are saying but mine was not grayed out for those reasons. I tried to click submit (or whatever the execute button is called) and it errored saying that I couldn't go further because the first and last name were missing.

    We don't have to keep talking about what I could have done differently or why MS did what they did on their site. As a business, MS should take into account that they may have a stupid customer. You cannot blame the customer for being stupid...you have to
    have a failsafe for it. Really, my solution is not that difficult to implement. Just do what has always worked since the beginning of time and have some way to contact a human being.

    By the way, I have still not received a confirmation email from the support tech stating that the billing will stop although they said I would get the email after we hung up. I guess I will see next month if I'm charged a 3rd month for a service I cannot
    even use. I'm no longer upset but I do feel like others should know this stuff.
