Can you turn off "Happening Now"?

Unless auto-renewal is turned off, Microsoft will still try to charge you regardless of whether the card has expired or not, which is why it's important to turn it off before they charge you. Even if you can't turn it off via the website, you can always
call support and have them turn it off for you. You will have to call them to have them help you get it sorted out now.

What happens now is they will continue to try charging you for the subscription. Since they can't, you will accrue a balance you have to pay off before you can continue to use gold. They will suspend your account from the service until you pay that balance.

This is especially unhelpful. Did you even read the OP? If you had, you'd realize that the OP was asking how to play in offline mode.



To the OP:

Yes, after it kicks you to the main menu, just start the game again and you'll be in offline mode. Or, if you start up the game and are already in party chat, you'll be in offline mode. Going human will still allow you to kindle bonfires and summon NPCs
to your game.

Going into party chat kicks you back to the main menu.

Just go into party chat and you'll be in offline mode.

Don't use humanity and turn yourself human. Others can't (and won't) invade you unless you are.
