Can you swap the screenshare button to "Hold" for screenshot and press for game clip?

To take a screenshot you should be able to double tap the Guide button then press Y. For a clip you can always double tap the Guide button and open an app then choose Game DVR. If you select End Clip you can record up the the last 5 minutes of game play.

As for your current issue, have you tried power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down to see if that helps?

And I do see that you have a Gold membership and do play online.

Can you elaborate what method you are using to try and take screenshots?

When ingame do you press the Nexus button to bring up the Home Guide, then move to the right to Capture and share, then Capture>Capture a screenshot?

Capture game clips and screenshots provides support for this feature.

If you have a lot of clips on your console you may want to upload them to XBox Live so you can delete some of them from the console.

There is only a finite space for clips and shots stored on the console.

In a game:

A single press of the Share button takes a screenshot

Press and hold makes a game clip of what just happened

You can also check if your share button is set to Record what happened instead of just a screenshot. This can be done by going to Xbox Accessories App.
