Can you restore a Microsoft MakeCode project after a sketchy external extension deleted it?

Just wanted to clear something up, we’re users just like you, so we don’t have access to any accounts or special tools to recover stuff. That said, recovering your code after an external extension wiped it out can be pretty tricky, and honestly, it might not even be possible in most cases.

Since you mentioned using a GitHub extension, I’m guessing you’re working in a browser, right? Here’s something you can try:

1. Open MakeCode.

2. Hit F12 (or right-click and select "Inspect") to open the Developer Tools.

3. Go to the "Application" tab.

4. Look for "IndexedDB" > "pxt" or "makecode."

Expand that section and see if your project data is still hanging around. If it’s not there, I’m afraid it might be gone for good. Fingers crossed, though, let me know how it goes.

Been having this issue for a couple of weeks, started out of the blue. Cleared caches and memory, hard reset, soft reset, scrambled reset, restore to defaults, deleted my account and redownloaded, deleted games. Affects everything on internal and external
hard drives. Sending it to Microsoft see if they will send it back fixed
